Sanctuary Shop is a lifestyle boutique, proudly and wonderfully situated on the same premises as the beautiful Alice Art Gallery, in Ruimsig, Gauteng. The outlet is a collaboration between two Johannesburg-based creatives - Corne Senekal, a Fashion Designer / Creative and Monica Cserei, a Jewellery Designer and Artist.

With both Designers having their own respective brands, Corne and Monica needed a suitable platform to showcase and market their products. Having met at Alice Art Gallery initially, and with an ideal shop space becoming available, they inevitably collaborated and Sanctuary Shop materialized.

​

Corne and Monica are both passionately and proudly South African and Sanctuary allows South African artists and designers the opportunity to showcase their products within their space. The Sanctuary brand ethos is to promote, empower and share success with as many people as possible.

​

There is plenty of success to go around and everyone must get a share of it. Corne and Monica share this philosophy and it is an important value within their business. Sanctuary is committed to supporting local small businesses and will therefore offer a variety of clothing, jewellery, ceramics, candles, garden and home accessories that are all locally produced, from various artists and designers.

I hope that our little ‘dream come true’ Shop will be as much of a liberating inspiration and motivation to each designer and customer alike, as it has been to me personally.
